Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of deposit do you require?
We require 50% down on all orders.
If I bring my logo on a flash drive / CD, what format works best?
Vector files (.eps) work best. In many cases, we can also work with (.pdf) files. Images taken from the internet (e.g. .jpeg and .gif) often do not contain sufficient pixels to allow them to be expanded. In some cases, logos in .jpeg or .gif format can be "vectorized". Just tell us what you have to work with, and we'll tell you what we can do for you.
Can you make a sign from a digital photograph?
Yes, and we do often! The better quality the photograph (the more pixels it contains), the better your digital image will turn out!
I see many vehicles that are completely covered in advertising, can SIGN-A-RAMA provide this service?
Yes. This is one of our shop's specialties. And we can do this even in the middle of winter, when most sign shops cannot. Just drop in and ask to have one of our designers inspect your vehicle and take measurements for a quote.
Some folks also ask: "What is the difference between vehicle lettering and a vehicle wrap?" A vehicle wrap covers major vehicle surfaces with a contiguous graphic pattern, essentially creating a new background, while vehicle lettering uses the vehicle's paint color as its background.
If I have special color matching requirements, or need to have my letterhead and business cards matched can SIGN-A-RAMA meet my needs?
Yes. Depending on the type of sign and its uses, we can usually match according to your needs. We use a CYMK printing process and can cross-match with PMS or Pantone colors. When you need printed media like business cards, flyers, door hangers, postcards, posters, or other media printed on paper or post card stock, we can design and provide those items for you as well, often at prices better than you might receive from a local printer.
Do I need a permit for my sign?
We work with all the local towns and villages in the southwest suburbs, and keep current with all their rules and regulations. We will work with them to find out exactly what you need and help obtain the permit(s) required before your sign(s) are installed.
If I am getting a sign installed on my vehicle, how long will my car/truck/van be out of service?
Most vehicles can be lettered in one business day, or less. For a full wrap, plan on one full business day.
Can my sign be delivered?
Yes, we can deliver or arrange for third party delivery of your signs.
Does SIGN-A-RAMA create trade show booths and graphics?
Yes. We can customize them, or provide pre fabricated travel booths, or both. We specialize in displays that can be erected or taken down in a matter of seconds.
What is the largest sign I could order from a SIGN-A-RAMA full service sign center?
There are no signs too large for us! We can negotiate for billboard space, have it printed with your message, delivered, and installed.
How Big Should My Message Be?
The answer depends upon how far away from your message your viewers will be. A good rule of thumb: Your letters or numbers should be at least 1 inch tall for every 10 feet of distance for maximum impact, and 30 feet of distance for minimum readability. So 4" tall letters will have maximum impact at 40 feet, and be readable up to 120 feet.
Do You Have All the MS Word Fonts?
Yes, plus many more fonts that MS Word does not have. If you have a font and do not know its name, we may be able to identify it for you.
What Are Your Hours of Operation?
Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5pm
Saturdays by appointment.
If you need earlier or later Monday - Friday service, just call 630-739-0110 and we'll make every effort to open early or stay open late just for you.
Why Should Sign A Rama Bolingbrook Design My Logo?
Many graphic designers know your logo will appear on printed material and the internet, so they design and save low resolution, non-expandable files appropriate to those media. Sign A Rama Bolingbrook designs your logo as vector, so it can be used anywhere from as small as a golf ball to online to as massive as a billboard. This is a valuable artwork asset for any business or organization to have.
