SIGNARAMA Expands, Adds Space and New Equipment

Wednesday, November 05, 2008
West Palm Beach, Fla. (November 4, 2008) – SIGNARAMA, the world’s largest sign franchise, continues its growth as the leader in its industry as its franchisees continue to prosper and expand their businesses.

Mark Collins of Skokie, IL, expanded his SIGNARAMA business in October.  Mark said, “I am extremely proud to say that we have grown, moved, and expanded our facility to a new state-of-the-art location in Skokie.  We are installing two computers in our lobby for our customers to learn about the online design technology.  I believe this is another first in our business and look forward to leading the way.”

Rebecca and Len Kronfeld of Wilmington, NC, recently purchased a new site and relocated their business tripling their store space from 1,100 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft.  The building was renovated to accommodate a new indoor bay designated for installation of vehicle graphics with no weather limitations.  The Kronfelds’ new building provides SIGNARAMA with higher visibility in the community, room for further expansion and easy access for customers with plenty of parking space.

Barb Mincy of Bloomington, IL, also has seen how change is important at her business.  Bloomington’s SIGNARAMA recently purchased state-of-the-art equipment to offer bigger, better quality service, said co-owner Mincy.  The business now has a new flat bed printer that basically offers unlimited print options, including on carpet, ceramic tile, glass and fabric, Mincy said.  Employees have been trained on the change, and now the business is out to educate customers on what’s available, she said.  “To give our customers the best, we had to move forward,” Mincy said.  “There was nothing really wrong with what we had before. What we have now is better.”

SIGNARAMA of Pittwater, Australia has signed a deal to purchase a Teckwin TeckStorm UV flatbed printer and TeckCel router from Positive Camtec.  The company took advantage of a special show deal offered by Positive Camtec at the Visual Impact Image Expo currently running in Sydney, with the two machines rolled into a package.  Co-owner Margie Layman said that the new equipment would enable the company to diversify its range of product offerings from both of its Mona Vale and Ultimo shop front operations.  “The machines will expand our work options, and will enable us to go into new markets with this die-cutting capability,” Layman said. “The fast turnaround from those machines will be a real boost for us as well in our ability to meet customers’ deadlines.”

John and Ashly Robbins of Redding, CA,
took over the business in 2005 and quadrupled the size of their showroom and nearly tripled their staff.  They expanded their store from 1,200 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft. with a center bay dedicated for vehicle graphics installation.  Last year vehicle graphics represented 20% of their sales, a clear signal that their renovations have paid off.

Todd Fry of Fargo, ND, held a Grand Opening event in October for his newly relocated store in Fargo with over 50 attendees and two chambers of commerce present.  Because his business had outgrown the 1,200 sq. ft. of space, Todd relocated and expanded his business, doubling his space to 2,400 sq. ft.  The expanded lobby allows them to display the diverse products they offer, and the newly installed overhead door provides protection from the weather elements that would otherwise hamper installation of vehicle graphics.  Earlier this year, Todd also expanded his customer base when he opened his second SIGNARAMA location in Grand Forks.

With more than 850 retail locations worldwide, SIGNARAMA uses cutting-edge industry software programs to provide a full range of comprehensive sign graphic services to both the private and commercial segments of the business community.  Products and services range from simple banners and posters to complex store fronts and vehicle graphics.  For franchising information, please call (800) 286-8671 x1369.
